Watercolor Artist

A few years ago I took a class in watercolor painting and my whole perspective on life changed.  Someone told me, once you begin to paint, nothing in life ever looks the same.  Color, light, texture, and images took on a different appearance in everything I saw.  A rusty nail, light shimmering through the trees, and a child playing all had a new mystery in my life.

Watercolor is a journey and there is much to learn.  Most of my work so far is realism, but I am excited about other endless possibilities and do not want to draw boundaries around future endeavors.

When one of my paintings finds its way into someones life and heart it inspires me to search for more ways to depict what I love.  The ability to give these everyday things a life and a special place are still a source of great excitement.

Professional Workshops

Joseph Alleman
He has been featured in many major art publications and his work has received many awards.   Loved his  class, love his work, learned a lot.  His technique works magic for him and I feel priveleged if just a little "how  to" rubbed off on me.

Ian Ramsey
His paintings are highly collected, especially in this  country and Japan.  His wonderful control of color and light  are a delight.  He won't admit it but he is also a very patient teacher.

Lester Lee

He is a self-taught artist and has achieved much success and is the winner of national art awards.  His classes were fun, enlightning  and I learned a lot especially as a beginner.

Jean Grastorf
Another contributor to many publications and she has written her own book.  Her technique of "Pouring"  was certainly a different approach and opened new possibilities for painting in a different wa
y.
